The Workbook Topics
ANXIETY SoulCare Group:
If you struggle with fear, worry, or anxiousness and find yourself often stressing out or obsessing over finances, health, interpersonal relationships, the future, or well-being of a loved one, the Anxiety SoulCare Group is for you whether you are experiencing a garden variety type of anxiety or are clinically diagnosed. Together we will learn how to bring the very real threats of this fallen world to the Right Person and grow in our trust of His grace for today.
GRIEF SoulCare Group:
All of us have experienced some type of loss in our lives, but have you ever wondered what it looks like to grieve like a Christian? Whether facing the loss of a loved one, grieving the end of an important relationship, struggling with failing health, or even being abruptly detoured from a long held career path, the pain and sting can be unbearable. In the Grief SoulCare Group, we will bring our grief, sorrow, and sadness to the Lord, ask all the hard questions, and learn to lament biblically and grieve with hope. Sign up if you haven’t processed your feelings elsewhere or are noticing warning signs of unresolved or lingering grief.
SEXUAL INTEGRITY SoulCare Group:
Ever since the fall in the Garden, we can plainly see that God's design for sex has been splintered through both sin and suffering. Perhaps you've known this disintegration in your own life or want to help someone who has? Has pornography, promiscuity, or some other sexual behavior become something from which you or someone you love can't seem to break free? Is marital love dying due to the choices you or your spouse have made? Is a future spouse elusive because your standard is defined by images in magazines or romance novels? Are you struggling to live with sexual integrity as a single person? Male or female, single or married, we've all gotten so much wrong. But there is biblical hope for renewal!
In this SoulCare Group we will learn what it means to have "Sexual Integrity" as God defines it in His word. In Christ, He is truly making all things new! We will take a truth-filled and grace-empowered approach to all that is wrong with our view and approach to sex. Through both practical theology and relevant applications, we will find God's design for human flourishing in intimacy and see how he restores our brokenness for his glory and our good!
ANGER SoulCare Group:
Do you find yourself wrestling with anger? Whether the icy grip of silent resentment, a sharp or raised tone of voice, a tendency to quarrel, or fiery outbursts that leave scars, anger is a complex emotion we all grapple with as humans. Have you noticed how anger can strain relationships, leave long-lasting wounds, and create distance? Do you carry regrets about moments when anger got the best of you? If you are seeking change or simply want to learn more, join us for this SoulCare Group™ where we will aim to turn from anger, run toward wisdom, and grow in understanding the difference between sinful and righteous anger, ultimately finding true satisfaction in the truth of God’s word and the hope available in the person and work of Jesus.
DEPRESSION SoulCare Group:
Have you ever wondered what difference your faith makes to your depression? Whether you would describe your experience as a mild sense of melancholy, an acute blueness to your days, or a dark night of the soul, depression often comes as a surprise to a Christian. And whether your depression cycles with the seasons, comes in short bouts, or seems like a constant and unwelcome companion, it can leave one doubting God and His goodness. You will find help, hope, and a way forward, in and through the darkness in this SoulCare Group™, as you connect with God and His words of life written expressly for you. We will frame depression in biblical terms, wrap a gospel-rich, Christ-centered theology around your suffering, and explore ways in which, together in a community of fellow sufferers, we might find relief from oppressive symptoms, imagine brighter days ahead, and seek a transformed heart as we follow Jesus—the One who is most familiar with our sorrows.
SHAME SoulCare Group:
Do you struggle with feeling inadequate, unworthy, not good enough, like you don’t belong or somehow never measure up, or maybe you have a sinking sense that you are dirty, unclean, or defiled in some way as a result of something you have done or something that has been done to you? If so, this SoulCare Group™ is for you. Here you will learn that hiding with fig leaves and other false coverings like striving, achievement, accomplishment, and perfection are no longer necessary when Jesus absorbs your shame and covers you with His garments of righteousness. Come learn why Jesus chose the path of betrayal to bring honor to the shamed.
ADDICTION SoulCare Group:
This SoulCare Group™ is for those who have difficulty saying no to temptation in some area of their lives. Are you stuck in the sin-repent-repeat cycle? You will know it is time to join us when saying yes to things like drugs, alcohol, pornography, or other besetting sin patterns have produced chronic destruction, defeat, and loss of relationships. Though you might feel hopeless and at a crossroads, don’t give up. Together with fellow strugglers, we will study God’s word, examine the fruit of our lives, reflect on motives, consider kingdom allegiances, and seek the Lord for His Spirit-empowered, transforming grace to walk in the path of wisdom. Whatever your struggle, there is help and hope to be found in Christ.
SINGLENESS SoulCare Group:
Whether divorced, widowed, or never married, and no matter your age, singleness can be challenging for even the most seasoned believer. Whether you are struggling to navigate the loneliness, having difficulty trusting God in the waiting, feeling challenged to maintain commitment to sexual purity, or figuring out how to confidently belong and serve in community among marrieds, we will seek to find a faithful way forward in relationships, learn to wait patiently despite the discomfort, seek His comfort in our loneliness, and embrace the opportunity to grow in service and in relationship to the church. Together in this SoulCare Group™, we will look toward our future glorious union with Christ, the one and only perfect Bridegroom.
SUFFERING SoulCare Group:
Suffering comes in many different shapes and sizes. Whether it be acute or chronic, mental or physical illness, disability, grief, loss, injury, aging, ongoing relational conflict, loneliness, abuse, or victimization, we have all experienced suffering. In fact, to live in a fallen world is to guarantee suffering. But knowing this intellectually often doesn’t sufficiently alleviate the struggle. More likely, it has left you wrestling with questions like, How long, O Lord? Where are you? What are you doing? Why me? and Why this? This SoulCare Group™ will help you reflect biblically on these questions, examine your doubts and potential temptations, grapple with His purpose in your suffering, and learn how to grow in your ability to suffer well. Together, we will learn what God is up to in the silence. Spoiler alert: He is up to something good.
